Interior Gone Fashionable
This
is my idea for a new fashion venture, it’s where you take draperies and
curtains and turn them into an outfit. There are many different styles of
draperies like Asian print, draperies with embroidery, floral print, and animal
print. Drapery fabrics are great for the winter, due to the heaviness and
stiffness of the fabric. You can turn them into jackets, dresses, pants, etc. Many
people don’t like to use interior fabric because they find it difficult to sew
on although not all of them are stiff nor thick. There are some draperies that
are light for example satin or anything in the chiffon family, which also comes
in varieties of prints and embroideries. If you do want to make clothing out of this
fabric it would be a wonderful wise idea to put a lining in it so it won’t
scrape on the skin or look messy inside, because you would want a clean finish.
I find it fascinating and unique to make a garment that is heavy and bulky with
beautiful embellishments; to be honest it would look like a high quality
garment if not couture. I hope that there will be more people who will make their
fashions out of interior design fabric and that this will soon become a new
trend.

1950s
During the 1950s,
around World War 2 there were several different fashions, some didn’t take on
to the public right away, but after models advertising on popular magazines,
then people start wearing those fashions more so. Some fashions were such as
below mid-calf length, full-skirt, pointed bust, small waist, and rounded
shoulder line. There were more styles
that became popular during the era like the “tailored, feminine look with
gloves and glamorous jewelry, tailored suits with jackets that fit close to the
body with peplums, with a pencil skirt”. The 1950s also had developed new
fibers such as drip- dry nylon, orlon, and Dacron, which were synthetic and
easy to take care of , and could retain heat-set pleats after washing. Spandex
was another famous fiber that was created to help hold in the body to give a
tone look. For the first time in the 50s teenage and young adult fashions
became a new marketing niche too.
My honey child product review
Being natural was one the most
difficult yet best things of my life. I have done months of research on the
internet just to find a product that works perfectly for me. Finally, I have found
a product line that caught my attention. She had a great sale where you get a
little sample pack for free so I went for it and begged my granny to buy it.
After four days the package came and I was so excited to try it. The products
were olive oil shampoo in which I loved a lot due to it making my hair super
soft, yogurt deep conditioner which was horrible, and hair butter which was
fantastic. I loved the shampoo and butter so much until I went ahead and bought
full sizes and this time I bought more of their products.
The ingredients in these products
are just absolutely phenomenal! I bought the Banana Crème Conditioner, Honey
Nut sample kit (got it for free), Sophia’s Old Fashioned Hair Grease, and Type
4 Hair Crème. The first thing I tried was the banana conditioner, and let me
tell you the scent smells just like bananas, after washing it out it left my
hair with a little bit of a sheen. I suppose it’s because of the banana powder
because it creates manageability, shine, growth and controls dandruff which is
a plus for me. Also, it turns out this conditioner has biotin which is even
better because it helps boost healthy hair growth and it goes directly on the
scalp rather than in your body which causes most people to break out.
Next I used the Type 4 hair crème
to twist and braid my hair. This product has some exotic ingredients like
baohen oil, cuscus grass extract, eclipta erecta oil, and turmeric. Baohen oil
and cuscus grass helps prevent baldness, repairs split ends, prevent graying,
and added shine, while eclipta erecta oil and turmeric alleviates dandruff and
stimulate hair growth. I love this product, for a first time my curls were
actually defined. The product even went on my hair smoothly without a
hassle.
After smoothing on the Type 4 hair
crème I then applied Sophia’s Hair Grease. This hair grease is not like any
other ordinary grease, because its petroleum free. Yes, finally someone has
invented grease without extra unnecessary junk in it. Due to no petroleum this
will give all the oils in the formula to penetrate the hair shaft. The ingredients
for this product are sunflower butter, raw honey, rosemary oil, olive oil, and
fruit enzymes. This product is suppose to nourish dry dull strands and prevents
an itchy scalp. Sophia’s hair grease did exactly what it said; my twists and
braids were so shiny and healthy looking, not to mention they were smooth to
the touch. It also made my hair color pop and my curls pop. I guess it’s
because of the honey sense it’s thick and glossy.
Over all I am enjoying being
natural because there are a variety of ways to where it up in braids, twists,
twist outs, wash and goes, and straight( which some women don’t like due to the
heat loosening or damaging their curls). Being natural is so versatile, you can
where it in a variety of ways, although it may take months if not a year to
find the right product but I finally made it. My Honey Child hair care line has
saved my life. Now I have high expectations for my hair growth within the next
two years.
Embracing Natural Beauty
Way back in the day women of color
were thought of low and ghetto due to wearing their hair in a natural state. The
pulling, the tugging, the burns, the tears, the agony, all of these were the things we
would go through as African American women when our mother use to straighten our
hair with a hot comb or perm when we were little girls, just so we could have beautiful straight hair and
be like every other girl on earth. For years women with kinky, curly, and/or
coily hair were known to have hair that would never grow, but really we just weren’t
treating our hair right due to damaging it for decades with chemicals and heat
just to be common and look so called beautiful.
From 2009-2011 was when going natural gradually started being a trend. After all the trend followers went natural they suddenly realized that this was a big help to growing long healthy hair, so now being natural is turning epic. After a lot of women started going natural then came organic hair products. Organic hair products are products with all natural ingredients and no added chemicals that are harsh to your hair. Many women who are natural tend to say never use products with petrolatum or in other words never use hair grease; but of course as we all know never say never, because knowing how thick our hair can be it will soak up all the oils we would try to put in it, so of course we would need something to hold our hair down.
Now if you are planning to go natural for the first time I must warn you it will be pretty difficult the first few months maybe even a year. Mainly, because you are going to have figure a method and products that would work for you hair type. What would really help is looking on youtube and watching other women with your hair texture and type to get an idea on what to do. Now knowing that everyone is not a 100% the race they are no one really has the same hair type, so don’t depend on every video you watch. Don't be scared to where your kinks, embrace your natural beauty.

How to be a Great Designer for Beginners
Being a fashion designer is a
rewarding career. There may be literally blood, sweat, and tears as I may know myself,
but finishing the outfit makes you feel great and invincible. The ups and downs
of the fashion world just build character, so in that case have no worries. In order to be a successful designer you must
have faith in yourself and a strong passion for fashion, because there will be
many times that you would want to give up and throw your masterpiece to the
side. Plus, it’s okay if you have to take a break and shed a few tears or just
walk around for little while, due to you being frustrated. Not to mention that
it is scientific that when you cry it releases stress and anxiety, which in
your case is great. The best way to network and make it in the fashion industry
is to network at fashion shows. Now, it’s not just getting hired off the spot
thing, but you must volunteer for free and trust me I know its difficult when
you have school and a job to depend on, but you will be happy towards the end
of the day. In order to learn a lot about different sewing techniques and
clothes its best to help out your teacher, fellow classmate, or any other
seamstress or designer. Once again you may not get paid, but just the
experience will help you on the long run. I have been in the fashion industry
for two and a half years now and I have enjoyed every minute of it, although
there were stressful and hair pulling times, but I still made it. Hopefully,
one day you will be successful like one of those other fashion companies such
as Michael Kors, Versace, and Coco Chanel. Now, that you know a few tips on how
to be an extravagant fashion designer, the future will be your oyster.

Dressing casual and still look good
When it boils down to school and work who would want to dress up everyday and feel uncomfortable, when all you are doing is going to school for a few hours and going back home. I usually like to start off with choosing any type of shirt, and if the shirt is plain don't worry, because the pants or skirt has embellishment on it plus you can add jewelry! If you want the outfit to pop you can add bright colored earrings and bracelets with a splash of gold or silver, or a statement necklace with stud earrings. Now the accessory's don't have to be colorful but they can be flashy and classy. Next, is choosing the shoes which is really up to you, because if you are more on the sporty side you would want to wear sneakers, and if you are more girly you may want to wear flats or heels, but they must coordinate with the outfit well. Last but not least you may want to throw in a hint of edge with putting on a leather jacket or vest, which goes with any outfit. There you have it, now you can strut the floors feeling great about yourself and no one can tell you any thing.

Spring outfit of the day
Out with the cold and in with the warmth, yes every one it's almost spring time!!!! Which is why I designed and made this beautiful outfit to relate to the latest spring trends. As you all can see the skirt is made out of cotton sateen and I chose it because it has a wide range of colors bursting out in all kinds of directions which is perfect for spring and summer. The blouse is all the way georgette, and I must say me and this georgette went through the absolute struggle, but we made it through. Moving right along, the latest trends are floral print, yesss and of course my most favorite color lavender yaaay, and as we all know many bright pastel colors and sunflower print( which is sold in almost all of your local retail stores). So what can you say, let's get out of the dark and into the light.
